Paxar PCL viewer and rendering API · SNAP 500 and SNAP 700

Labelisk interprets Paxar PCL label formats for SNAP 500 and SNAP 700 printers, and renders them at print size. Proof a format in the browser, or render it as a PNG from your own system through the API.

No account needed to try the viewer.

What it is for

Label formats are written in a terse command language. Until now, the only way to see the result was to print it.

Proof without printing

Paste a format and see the front and the back drawn at real size, with the fields that overflow the tag, exceed their width or are cut by the printer flagged one by one.

Render from your system

One HTTP call returns the label as a PNG at print resolution. Useful for order previews, approval screens, archiving what was printed and automated tests.

Your logos and fonts

Upload the BMP logos and the TTF fonts stored in your printers. Every render made with your key uses them, the same way the printer does.

How it works

Send the format

The body of the request is the format itself, from ~XA to ~ZZ. Print jobs carrying PCX images work as well.

Pick the station

Front, back or any numbered station. The answer lists every station the format contains.

Get the PNG

At the resolution declared in the format, plus the warnings for each field when something does not fit.

curl -X POST https://labelisk.com/v1/render \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer lk_xxx" \
  --data-binary @label.pcl \
  -o label.png

Single-file libraries for JavaScript and Python are available, with no dependencies.

Pricing

Questions

Which printers does it cover?

Printers that read the Paxar PCL format language: SNAP 500, SNAP 700 and compatible equipment used in garment and care labelling. Labelisk is an independent service and is not affiliated with Avery Dennison or Paxar.

How close is the render to the print?

Positions, rotation and field geometry were checked against printed labels. Text is drawn with free fonts that match the originals closely, so widths can differ slightly; uploading the fonts from your printer removes that difference.

Which barcodes are supported?

Code 39 today. Other symbologies are added on request — send a real format and it will be covered.

Do you keep my formats?

No. Formats are rendered and discarded; nothing is written to disk. Only the logos and fonts you choose to upload are stored in your account.

Can I run it inside my network?

Yes, on the Volume plan. Get in touch with your volume and requirements.

Support

Questions about volume, a barcode symbology you need, or a render that came out different from the printed label. In that case attach the format you used and a photo of the printed tag: that is what lets us fix the difference.
